Who is Planet Social Sports?
Planet Social Sports was started in Los Angeles in the Spring of 2007, with the purpose of bringing adults together in a social environment to play sports, meet people and have fun. With a shortage of outlets for adults, Planet Social Sports is the perfect place to have fun and meet new people. In a years time, we've made hundreds of new friends, created relationships and given back to the community. How do I sign up/pay the registration fee?
To register to play in one of our leagues or events is a 3 step process.
1. Create a web account and logon to our website. Click here to Start and Logon.
2. Goto the League Website and Click on the REGISTER tab. Follow instructions and register for the league, team and how you would like to signup. I.E.... Captain/start a group, Individual with a team, or a Free Agent.
3. Once you complete the REGISTRATION Process you must finish the process and pay for your registration. This is accomplished in our store. After you complete REGISTRATION you should be directed to the LEAGUE check out page... select the icon that you signed up under registration. If you registered as a CAPTAIN then add the 'Sign up as Captain" to your shopping cart. Follow the instructions and check out... your done. You receive two emails to confirm. The first is your league and team info and the second for you payment from our sales department.
What happens after I pay?
After payment the next steps are simple.. Show up to the preparties, the practice games or show up to your first game that's on the schedule. The schedule will be posted one week before game time. You or your Captains can pick up your shirts at the designated preparty... that's it.... See you on the field!!!
If I sign up as a free agent or a small group am I guaranteed to get on a team?
If you are an individual who does not have a team, you will be added to established teams that need additional players and/or New teams that are formed with other individuals. We do our best to place all Free Agents on teams but in the event that teams fill up and we cannot we will refund your money.
Why are prices different for different leagues?
We get charged different prices for recreation spaces and for participant insurance rates. We do our best to keep prices reasonable so that you can play for cheap :)
Can I sign up a whole team at once?
You can sign up as a captain.. then all you teammates need to do is signup under your team name or your name... it's that easy.
How old do you have to be to participate?
You must be 21 years old to participate in any of our events or leagues.
What is the deadline to register for leagues?
Deadlines for registration are independent for each league, but generally registration ends a week before the season starts. We may extend registration depending on team and league size and sometimes registration will go into the first week of games.... but get signed up early, because spots go fast.
Spots are first come first serve. Don't wait because leagues fill up fast and you don't want to miss your chance to meet up and play in the best sports league around So Cal.
What if I don't have my own team?
Sign up as a FREE AGENT. We've had hundreds of free agents sign up over the last year, with some teams comprised completely as free agents. It's a great way to meet new people and get involved... Come out and Play!
How do I get on the same team as a friend?
To sign up on the same sports league team as a friend you must know what team they signed up with. This means that you must know who the captain or group starter is. After that.. it's easy. During the registration process you select the captain's name or the team name that they started. It just takes a click of the mouse.... Easy as pie :)
How long are the seasons?
Depending on league and location the season's can be 6 to 9 weeks long.
How long do we play for?
Games are an hour, for all leagues and sports... except for bowling leagues. They have their own rules.
When will we receive our t-shirts?
T-Shirts are distributed on the designated pre-party/signup night (Listed on the Sport home page). Captains are responsible for gathering all shirts and distributing to team mates. If captains cannot make the t-shirt night, another teammate should be designated to show up to receive the shirts.
What is your refund policy?
NO REFUNDS will be issued for any requests made on or after the original start date (no matter what the circumstances). We will refund your money due to any issue deemed to be our fault.. I.e. Not being able to be placed on a team.....
There is a $25 processing fee for refunds requested prior to the league start date. This policy also includes anyone injured and unable to play during or prior to the original start date. The $3.50 registration is non-refundable even in circumstances where the league or event is canceled. If we do issue you a refund, we will either mail you a check, which usually takes at least 8-10 business days, or we will credit the credit card used (minus any processing fees).
What happens in the event of league rain outs?
We will not make up the first rainout but will do everything in our power to make up the rest. Fortunately we live in Southern California so there isn't much rain, but we will attempt to make up the second rainout and change the schedule accordingly after.
