Letter from a friend........

We actually received a call last week from the 809 area code. The woman said 'Hey, this is Karen. Sorry I missed you--get back to us quickly. I Have something important to tell you.' Then she repeated a phone number beginning with 809 'We didn't respond'.

 Then this week, we received the following e-mail:

 Subject: DON'T EVER DIAL AREA CODE 809 , 284 AND 876

 THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION PROVIDED TO US BY AT&T. DON'T EVER DIAL AREA CODE 809

 This one is being distributedall over the US . This is pretty scary, especially given the way they try to get you to call.  Be sure you read this and pass it on.

They get you to call by telling you that it is information about a family member who has been ill or to tell you someone has-been arrested, died, or to let you know you have won a wonderful prize, etc.

In each case, you are told to call the 809 number right away. Since there are so many new area codes these days, people unknowingly...

Better late than never...

 

Want to congratulate the Pink sacks on there three peat of the Venice Division of Planet Social Sports...

We had an interesting season to say the least... with the rain and field conditions. 

Shout outs to all who came out each and every weekend and played their hearts out, and to all those who didn't.... whelp.. hopefully we'll see you next season.

It's a bit cold in southern California.  Players started week 5 in long sleeves until they got warmed up.  After a pickup game we put teams together.  The Pink Sacks continue their reign as champions of the football league, with a record of 5 and 0.  With the other teams fighting it out for second place.  The second spot in the championship game is still up for grabs.... and there's only one more week to go.  Who's it gonna be.  The newly formed Christmas tree team, the combined team of Team Awsomeness and the browniew.  Or will the Steelers finally show up for a game and take the spot away.  You'll just have to wait and see....

On another note.. Don't forget about bowling night tomorrow night... starts at 9.  We drink, we bowl, we have some fun.  Come on out and check your bowling skills.

We be bowling... In the spirit of the Big Lebowski (spelled wrong I assume).   We bowled.

Thanks to all the members that came out for the first Wednesday night bowling extravaganza.....We bowled... some drank... we'll... let me rephrase.... Most drank, and we attempted to act like we rock.  Some wore cool socks... some had their own shoes, and I won't name any names, but someone pulled a butt muscle.... (you'd have to see it to believe it).  At the end of the night, all ended as usuall in the Social Sports World.  We had fun, hung out and had some beers.  Cheers to all who will feel it in the morning.  Luckily I have the day off....

Look for the upcoming bowling nights on Wednesday nights... we will skip next week due to the Haloween activities around town, but will be back in stride the week after.

Eventually we will implement a league structure and have teams..prizes. shirts rules.. blah blah...But for now, we...
